Dinner at the Royal Over-Seas League – Sir Anthony Figgis becomes a Patron of Curriculum for Cohesion

By Dr. Matthew Wilkinson

On 26 June 2012 Curriculum for Cohesion held a dinner at the Royal Over-Seas League to bring together the project’s academics, patrons and friends. This was a social and celebratory event at which substantial specches were delivered by Rt. Hon. Sadiq Khan MP, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and Dr. Matthew Tariq Wilkinson.  The event’s most notable success was the acceptance of the Chairman of the Royal Over-Seas League, Sir Anthony Figgis KCVO, CMG, a distinguished former diplomatic and interfaith activist, to become a Patron of Curriculum for Cohesion.  This marked a wonderful end to an enjoyable occasion where distinguished people of diverse backgrounds united to affirm their commitment to raising Muslim educational achievement and to the dissemination of better knowledge about Islam.
