Curriculum for Cohesion meets with Steve Mastin, Head of History at Sawston Village College

By Dr. Matthew Wilkinson

Wednesday, 5th December. Curriculum for Cohesion met with Steve Mastin, Head of History at Sawston Village College. Steve is a highly respected Head of History whose views on History curriculum have been sought by, amongst others, the Secretary of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Michael Gove MP. Steve was keen to discuss the approach to History curriculum put forward in our report A Broader, Truer History for All and is broadly in agreement with us that a kernel of pivotal national events on the History curriculum needs to be set in rich and deep international context to present pupils an adequate historical knowledge in a globalised world. Steve is kindly considering possible future collaboration with Curriculum for Cohesion.
