By Dr. Matthew Wilkinson

Dr. Matthew Wilkinson, Director and Principal Researcher of Curriculum for Cohesion, has been shortlisted for SANKORE UNIVERSITY AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION as part of the coveted Muslim News Awards for Excellence, which will be held on Monday 31 March.

The Muslim News Awards for Excellence is a high-profile gala ceremony showcasing the best of British Muslim talent and is hosted by The Muslim News, the country’s largest ethnic minority newspaper. The event will be held in the presence of Rt Hon Dominic Grieve, QC MP, Rt Hon Sadiq Khan MP, Shadow Justice Secretary and Shadow Lord Chancellor and Rt Hon Simon Hughes MP, Minister of Justice.

Matthew sees this shortlisting as recognition of the team effort of Curriculum for Cohesion to deepen Muslim-non-Muslim relations through coherently designed and tested humanities curricula, academic material and teacher-training and also as recognition of his many years of successful teaching of history, citizenship and religious education to Muslim young people.
